The top of the ‘twas the night before Christmas’ – stitchery quilt – is nearly completed! I really enjoyed stitching all the panels and can’t wait till I have patched the center quilt.
This is what it will look like. It is a pattern from Crab-apple Hill
I picked up this stitchery again in the first week of my Summer Break.
Love my nails in these pictures. When a colleague told me about gel nail polish and the amazing fact that a manicure with gel polish lasts two weeks or more, I was intrigued! So I had my nails done before Summer Break. On hindsight, I should have know this wasn’t wise. The acetone to remove the gel polish has made my nails brittle and peel. It has weakened my nails and they have become really dry and this has lead to breakage. Only my thumb nails survived and have some length to them. Grrr. So guess who won’t try this again. Guess who is waiting for her nails to grow. Lucky me, I have these pictures to see how nice they were.
The photo below was taken at the beginning of August. I’m nearly there!
It is nearly halfway through August.
Drum roll please! The last panel is finished. It is the left panel!
Still got some thread left.
Bought these fabrics for the center quilt and for the outer borders. The ivy green and dark red fabric underneath the pile will be used for the borders. Love the ivy green.
Doesn’t this post make you feel like it is Christmas already?
I’ll see if I can get some advice on how to make the pin-wheel blocks quickly. I need these for the center quilt. I’m especially wondering if there is a quick method to cut and sew everything together. I’m sure Laura from Laura’s Quilt-atelier will be able to help me. I really think it should be possible to complete the top before Christmas! It would be awesome if I’m quilting it at the beginning of December. It would be so nice to be quilting it ‘the night before Christmas’ so that Santa can admire my work. No hubby, it won’t be completed before Christmas 2014!
