It is a little hard to believe but this is my 2000th post. I’ve really enjoyed writing them. It has been my
little journal about quilting and my roving thoughts about daily encounters, the good & the bad, that I have been sharing with you.
I wonder how many words, sentences, paragraphs I have typed the past 6 years? Sadly, Blogger stats doesn’t publish this data. It does show what my most popular post was: patchwork & quilting, June 5, 2009, 1602 pageviews ; next most popular was ‘in limbo’, Dec 19 2012, 972 pageviews. Today I had 53 visitors and yesterday 109. Most of you come from the Netherlands, United States, United Kingdom, Russia (this I didn’t expect), Germany, and in 6th place Australia.
Besides it being my 2000th post, I’m also happy to announce that coming Monday I will have been blogging for 6 years. My first post was on the 17th of June 2007. I haven’t decided yet when my last post will be .
As of Monday, 17th of June 2013, I’m going to undertake a new challenge, although it is an old practice. Drum roll please!
I’m going to post 52 gratitude posts till the 17th of June 2014. Yes, I’m going to keep a gratitude journal (again!) and establish a daily practice to remind me of the gifts, grace, benefits, and good things I enjoy. I might even post more regularly and not limit myself to 52.
I’ve found an app so that I can jot down a brief entry—a single sentence—every day that ranges from the mundane (“taking a cool shower because of summer”) to the sublime (“the kindness of friends”) to the timeless (“Jason Mraz”). These entries will be input for my gratitude posts.
So get ready, I’m going to re-establish a ATTITUDE FOR GRATITUDE. I’m rekindling the joy in my everyday life by appreciating the simplicity in my moments.
