Of all the many metaphors for life, one of the most enduring, it seems to me, is the metaphor of life as a quilt. The making of a quilt is a bit like life...we start with fresh whole pieces that are beautiful and colourful, eventually they get cut apart and put back together again bit by bit, and amazingly the whole is definitely greater than the sum of its parts. And in the end, a quilt like life, tells a beautiful story.
Life is an endlessly creative experience, and we are shaping ourselves at every moment by every decision we make.
