The lake district

A change of plans! Instead of going to Lago di Garda, Italy, we are now going to the Lake district, Cumbria, England. Cool!!!

For more information about the area look here. We booked a B&B between Penrith & Keswick. Can’t wait till the beginning of summer and make some new memories. Last time we went was about 5 years ago.

Hope to take some pictures like this one.

Might check out Carlisle Cathedral again and visit Hadrian's Wall. Do a tour along the lakes and travel from Keswick to Bowness on Windermere. Visit Ambleside, Tarn Hows, the tarn of Beatrix Potter and Hawkshead. I think I should also check out Hutton-in-the-Forest, Sizergh Castle, Levens Hall and Holker Hall. Kirkby Lonsdale might also get a visit from us. Want to admire the scenery from Ruskin’s View and Devil’s Bridge.

Hoping to do some walks, like the Aira Force & High Force, Around Buttermere & Catbells. Will ask hubby to program this into his GPS. Also will try persuade him to try these walks. Alternative, convince some friends of ours to go with us!! Naturally I’ll be taking the camera along, but first will add something new to my birthday wishlist: a Garmin GPS for me.

Looking forward to this trip. Looking forward to going to the UK again, checking-out the bookstores and who knows maybe visit a quilt shop.

I love to plan trips. That's half the fun. Take all the back roads and enjoy the view . I'm jealous! claudia
