Mini Cooper S

A good friend of ours popped by yesterday afternoon to show his new car.

One proud new owner, as you can see. Hubby, didn't want to spoil the picture, but I was able to catch him peeking.

The dashboard looks pretty neat. This is one fast car, but so small!! Boys and their toys.

Adri is happy, Hubby is impressed (and a little jealous), and  I  still definitely prefer my own big QashQai knipoog

Ginger ale

On a sunny day I love Ginger Ale. Do you?

Quilt market in Putten, NL

Here I was just sitting down to soak up some sun, when it disappeared behind the clouds. Lots of dark clouds have al of a sudden appeared. I'm kind of hoping the sun will show itself again soon, so here I am sitting behind my computer catching up on some blogging while sitting in my bathers.

Yesterday I had to demonstrate the rose maker, the puff maker and ribbon maker. Most successful was the rose maker en ribbon maker.

Here is an impression:

Isn't this a beautiful bag in the picture above on the right?

Underneath in the picture on the right is me. Here I'm trying to show how to use the puff maker.

Tonny, as you can see is very concentrated. She is making little hexagons.

What a mess, roses, ribbons etc. Here is picture of a cat quilt. I'm sure someone will appreciate that I posted this picture.

In the picture underneath is the owner of the shop.

In the last picture you can see the gift I received as thanks for demonstrating the Clover products. It is a friendship quilt kit. The book and hexagons I bought for myself.

Meanwhile, the sun has appeared again and I've been sunning. Quickly popped upstairs too cool down and to finish the post.

Quilting

As most have noticed, I haven't been quilting much. But Wednesday was one of those night that I did a little catching up.

But before I got started I had to admire Tonny's hexagon quilt. The top is finished. I really like this quilt. She got her inspiration from the Mammy Quilt, which is shown in the book 'Quilts, a Beautiful History' by Zaro Weil.

Tonny wasn't the only one that has kept herself busy. Marja, has been redecorating one of the room's upstairs. She is making herself her own quilt room. It does have its advantages, when a daughter moves out.

She is getting one of those big tables soon, so that we can, in the near future, sew in her 'quilt & patchwork'-room instead of her kitchen.

And, here is my project

Last quilting class for this season

Monday I went to my last quilting class. I didn't attend my regular class due to my vacation to Italy. Look at the amazing projects these quilters are busy with.

Underneath you can see my slow progress. Aagje, my quilt teacher, showed me with fabrics to use in the next two blocks.

IMG_2984 IMG_2985

My goal was to finish all 5 blocks at the end of May. Sadly, I have to admit that other things got more attention. I was unable to find myself some quiet time last couple of weeks to work on my feathered star quilt. Hopefully I will find more time this summer.

The countdown has begun, only 27 more nights, and it will be finally summer!!

Dolfinarium

My little niece had a sleepover at my place. IMG_2946

Here she is relaxing in front of the TV. She is feeling right at home, I guess.

As I mentioned in the header, we went to the Dolfinarium. It is kind of like SeaWorld, but lots smaller and they don't have whales in their shows. Zoë enjoyed the playground more than the dolphins, seals, sea lions, walruses, and porpoises.

The merry-go-round was her favorite.
