I'm slowly getting the hang of it again. Yes, another night quilting Zoë's quilt.

I'm not the only one who is keeping herself busy. Look at the progress Marja's making. This feathered star quilt will become a beauty.

This is her centre block. I've got mine nearly completed 1/4 to go.

It was a beautiful evening last night. Took the picture from inside, looking out. Doesn't Marja have a beautiful garden?

Marja is also making a friendship heart quilt. Here is an impression of some of the blocks.

My weekend has started!! Kind of hoping I'll get some more quilting done. You'll see my progress in the next post.

Sunday quilting

Due to an unexpected phone call from a quilt buddy, I spend Sunday afternoon quilting on Zoë's quilt.

IMG_3350 I'm quilting the regular way in this picture. Although, I did have my ThumbThimble™ with me, incase I wanted to do some thumbquilting.

I don't have a very nice posture in this picture, I should be more alert to how I sit and quilt, as I don't want to have RSI again.

Did you spend your Sunday afternoon quilting?

Rocking chair

Don't you agree that this rocking chair would look lovely in my study.

Think I will have to save up for this one. As this Cremson Bow Back Rocking Chair is about € 200,00. When I can afford it, I'll get a natural wooden one. The white finish doesn't go well with my IKEA bookcases battingeyelash_smiley .

Antique quilts

Thanks to Kathie, I came across this site. If you want to see some antique quilts, you definitely need to click on the URL above. The Volckening collection is amazing. To be owner of 60 19th and 20th century American quilts. How lucky can you be. One day I do hope to have at least 20 hand made quilts! But as you know I make everything by hand and so the hours, days, months pass, showing little progress. Luckily I'm still young, so I should be able to make 20 in my life time. I've got 5 WIP's and one finished quilt!! I'm at least on my way.

While you are surfing the web, maybe you can find time to also visit Lori's blog.

It was a sunny hot day in Cambridge, even though they predicted rainy weather. Here is Hubby resting and enjoying the view winky_smiley

IMG_3319 Naturally we also visited a book shop. Here are the books I bought.

IMG_3345We had a great weekend, sadly the Holiday Inn, wasn't  as impressive as we thought when we booked.  We won't be staying there again soon.

I'm going to starting reading one of these books.

When in Cambridge, I found dr. Theo. I'm so happy with him, he is very funny, but also very serious. I've never seen a build-a-bear workshop before, have you? Buying dr. Theo was an amazing experience.

Another get together

This post is to show ''our'' progress. The quilt group is busy completing their feathered star quilts.

Tineke only has to complete another two blocks and she will have all her blocks done. Jannie is a little further along. She has nearly completed her top!!

I had to make a picture of the back side. Now you know why. Doesn't the back look just as nice & neat as the front?

As you can see, we don't only work, we also talk a lot.

In the picture underneath you can see Marja's progress. Wow, she has completed all nine blocks and is figuring out how to put the top together. It is amazing how much she has done in the past couple of weeks.

In the next picture you can see ''concentration''. Everyone is giving advice on which fabric to use where. Can't wait to see what Marja has decided.

I'm lagging a little behind. This is my third block. Need only to do another 6!!! Luckily, I have another two months before our lessons start again.

Hope you enjoyed ''show & tell''.

Quick post to show my progress

The third feathered star block is coming along nicely.

I undid my earlier work (mistakenly sewing the feathers the wrong way) and did it right this time (hopefully). I've nearly completed 3/4 of the block. As most of you know by now, this pattern is a real challenge for me. But I will persevere!!
