Hornbeam hedge

After a long working week, Hubby and I decided to fix our hedge. Last year we planted some hornbeams alongside the house, but not all survived. We had some big gaps in our hedge! Not a pretty sight, even if I do say so. The gaps needed to be filled. We had to wait for ever as they can only be planted as of half  November. Finally the time was right. This afternoon we planted some new European Hornbeams, they are small medium sized trees as you can see in the pictures below.

They are pretty popular in this part of the country. They are used to mark/fence our property.

As you can see we have a nice full hedge again. Now I only hope they will grow. Will post a picture next spring.
